I’m delighted to announce that experienced editor Scott White is heading up The Conversation Canada.
My UBC colleague, Mary Lynn Young, and I have been working to bring this proven model of collaboration between scholars and editors to Canada. Through The Conversation Canada, we are aiming to transform academic knowledge mobilisation.
The Conversation Canada, a national non-profit journalism startup, is expected to launch this spring. It will be part of a global network of analysis and commentary written by academics and edited by experienced journalists.
White brings decade of experience to the role, including 16 years as Editor-in-Chief of The Canadian Press. He also served as Washington correspondent and British Columbia bureau chief with CP.
Most recently, he was a vice-president with Postmedia Network and has an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
The Conversation Canada is the sixth edition of the global Conversation network. Since its launch in Australia in 2011, The Conversation has expanded to the UK, the US, France and Africa, as well as a global site.
